Method of preparing a working sample of seed lot for purity analysis
Method of collecting primary sample:
When seeds are in open seed lot:

Samples are collected from different sides and different depth of seed lot.
When seeds are in bags:
When a seed lot consist of six bags or less each bag should be sampled from well distributed throughout the bags. When seed lot consists of more than six bags, sample should be taken from 5 bags + 10 % of remaining bags not necessary to sampled more than 30 bags.

Mechanical halving device are most used for sub divided and are dependable for providing representive sample. i.e. working sample.
The sample divided into two portion both in size and content. The working sample are obtained by dividing the submitted sample are two or several size until the proper weight of working sample are obtained.
