Cutting
Layering
1. Cutting can be accomplished with by using branches, leaves, and roots.
1. Layering is performed on only branches of the plant.
2. Plant parts are first detached from mother plant and are them induced to produce roots.
2. Plant parts are kept attached to the mother plant till the root formation takes place.
3. Cutting can be taken easily from the plant and can be carried to long distance. More number of cutting can be prepared from a plant.
3. Layers are produced on the spot only and very few layers can be produced from plant.
4. It is very easy and simple methods.
4. It is complicated and difficult requires techniques.
5. Those plants are easier to root and are propagated by cuttage.
5. Those plants are difficult to root can be propagated by layerage.
