Landscape Design professional: A landscape design should be prepared before the installation of the landscape. Planning and design are both an art and a science. The environmental condition should be strongly considered during the preparation of a landscape design. The materials to be used should be selected properly and located to achieve the desired purpose. On a large scale, there are 4 professionals. These are as follows.
Landscape Design professional
- The landscape architect.
- Landscape constructor.
- Nursery person.
- Landscape maintenance supervisor.
1. Landscape architect
The American society of landscape Architects defines landscape architecture as. The art of design, planning, or management of the land, the arrangement of natural and man–made elements.
Thereon, through application of cultural and scientific knowledge, with concern for resource conservation, and stewardship, the resultant environment serves a useful and enjoyable purpose constitution of the American society of Landscape Architect.
Thus, the landscape architect is a service provider who advises a client about plans that can enhance the client’s environment. He or she is the consultant who provides site plan and planting plan for the project. The landscape architect also provides detailed guidelines about installing the landscape and then oversees the project to completion. Portion of the project are sub – contracted to other professionals.
2. Landscape contractor
The landscape contractor uses the architectural plan and installs the structures and plants in the landscape. It is important that the landscape contractor and architect thoroughly understand one another and agree on the practices and their implementation at a particular time. The landscape architect may recommend a specific contractor to a client.
3. Nursery person
After the plans have been clearly understood, the landscape architect contacts with supplier for the materials to be used in a project. Plant materials are obtained from nursery person. The landscape architect may particulate at this levels to ensure that the most suitable materials are selected for use. After installing the landscape, the landscape architect inspects the work and approves it, if it is done according to plan.
4. Landscape maintenance supervisor
The maintenance supervisor is responsible for managing the finished project to ensure that it becomes properly established according to pan and to the client’s satisfaction.
