Soil Microorganism:
Microorganisms isolated from the soil which have been observed to exist in some form in the soil is called soil microorganisms or fungi.
Soil-borne diseases:
The diseases caused by soil-borne pathogens are called soil-borne diseases.
List of soil-borne pathogens:
Fungi: Sclerotium, Rhizoctonia, Fusarium, Pythium, Phytophthora, Synchytrium, Rhizopus, Alternaria, Macrophomina (Gall of potato caused by it), Drechslera, Bipolaris, Curvularia, Phomopsis, etc.
Bacteria: Pseudomonas, Erwinia, Raltsonia, Rhizomonas, Agrobacterium, Streptomyces, Bacillus, etc.
Nematodes: Meloidogyne, Heterodera, Longidorus, Aphelenchus, Aphelenchoides, Paratrichodorus etc.
Virus: TMV (Tobacco Mosaic Virus)
*The survival rate of fungi in the soil is more than viruses because fungi can survive in a different environment and in a different form but viruses can survive only in a living host.
It is difficult for the virus to become soil-borne because out of the living cell they exist as inactive and crystal shape.
